Nick alert in mIRC:
Go to options -> IRC -> Highlight. You can add words that will activate a sound/flash the window/highlight the message
when someone says them. If it doesn't work as well as you feel it should, try looking
into nick alert scripts.

Quick DCC sends in mIRC:
Inside a PM window with someone (double click their name), drag a file (or files) from a windows folder into the PM window
to DCC send them. You can also drag the file(s) to where the person's nick is on the nicklist to send them.

mIRC: Copying and pasting on mIRC is different from normal Windows programs.
To copy and paste while keeping color/bold/etc. codes,
hold down
ctrl,
and select the text with your mouse.
Let go of the left mouse button first, then let go of
ctrl.
You do not need to press "c".
To select the text without keeping the formatting codes,
simply select the text without pressing
ctrl
or any keys, and let go of the mouse.

mIRC: Typing
/whois Bob
will show you information
on the user by the name of "Bob". It shows whatever "Bob" has put down for his full name,
and in some servers, his hostmark or IP.
/whois
also allows
other
users to view
your
information as well, so be careful what you put down for your real name and email address.

Nick Completion on mIRC: Type the first letter(s) of a person's name, and press tab. This auto-completes their nick and you don't have to type out all of long names or names with caps.

for Bold, Underlined, or Reversed text in mIRC, press ctrl-b, ctrl-u, and ctrl-r for the code. Then press it again at the end of the text you want in Bold, Underlined, or Reversed. Multiple codes can be used at once.
